Lena Fankhauser is a native of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. As a full scholarship recipient, she has graduated in 2002 from the Juilliard School in New York City with a Master of Music degree. She has also received a Bachelor’s degree from the Juilliard School. Ms. Fankhauser then completed the post-graduate course at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Professor Thomas Riebl.
She has been a top-prize winner in the year 2000 of the Sphinx competition and as a result was featured on a televised PBS documentary. She has played all over the world in many halls such as the Carnegie Hall in New York, Avery Fisher and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Tonhalle in Zürich and the Suntory Hall in Tokyo. She has also played film scores such as ‘Ali’ in collaboration with Alicia Keys with the song "Fallin´" and recorded on the Blue Note record label with jazz artists Bob Belden and Joe Lovano.
Ms. Fankhauser is the founder and artistic director of the chamber music festivals in Bad Ischl (www.kmf-badischl.com) and Mariazell (www.kmf-mariazell.com) and is the president of (CH)AMBER - the association for new chamber music. She plays with Volkskoper Vienna, Camerata Salzburg, Vienna Chamber Orchestra and Klangforum Vienna. She also plays often with the Camerata Salzburg. Other groups she has played with include Salzburg Chamber Soloists, Kontrapunkte and the Radio Symphony Orchestra of Vienna (RSO).

Lena Fankhauser wurde 1976 in Montreal (Quebec, Kanada) geboren. Als Stipendiantin graduierte sie 2002 an der Juilliard School in New York City mit dem Master of Music. Ihren Bachelor absolvierte sie ebenfalls an der Juilliard School. Anschließend kam Lena Fankhauser für ein post-graduate Studium an das Mozarteum Salzburg zu Herrn Prof. Thomas Riebl.
Sie war Preisträgerin im Sphinx-Wettbewerb 2000 und wurde anschließend in einer PBS Dokumentation vorgestellt. Lena Fankhauser hatte Auftritte in vielen Konzerthallen rund um die Welt, so auch in der Carnegie Hall in New York, der Avery Fisher- und der Alice Tully Konzerthalle im Lincoln Center,  der Tonhalle in Zürich, der Suntory Hall in Tokyo u.a.  Sie wirkte auch bei der Filmmusik zu „Ali“ beim Song "Fallin´" von Alicia Keys mit, war Studiomusikerin im berühmten "Blue Note Label" mit den Jazzkünstlern Bob Belden und Joe Lovano und spielte mit dem Sänger und Oud-Spieler Dhafer Youssef bei einem Konzert in Hong Kong. Bei der ORF-Sendung „Dancing Stars“ spielt Frau Fankhauser derzeit im Orchester.
Lena Fankhauser ist Gründerin und künstlerische Leiterin der Kammermusikfestivals in Bad Ischl (www.kmf-badischl.com) und Mariazell (www.kmf-mariazell.com) und ist Obfrau von (CH)AMBER - dem Verein für Neue Kammermusik.  Beim „Camp Styria“ (www.kulturkontrast.at) auf Schloss Seggau ist sie Dozentin.  Sie spielte u.a. mit: Volksoper Wien, Camerata Salzburg, Wiener Kammerorchester, Wiener Philharmonie, Opernball Orchester, Klangforum Wien, Salzburg Chamber Soloists, Kontrapunkte und Radiosymphonie Orchester (RSO).
